Before you start
Which scores work best?
Clear, printed Western staff notation. Recognition can misread notes, accidentals, rhythms and repeats. Handwritten scores, tablature and non-staff notation are not supported in this beta.
Where is the score processed?
The score is uploaded to a private MakePip processor running local recognition software. It is not sent to a third-party AI API. Original uploads are removed after processing; results expire after one hour.
How can I correct a mistake?
Download MusicXML, correct it in a notation editor such as MuseScore, then upload the corrected MusicXML here. MIDI can also be edited in a music application.
What are the beta limits?
PDF files up to 20 MB and 12 pages; MusicXML or MXL up to 5 MB; up to 16 parts and 10 minutes of playback. Split PDFs with multiple movements into separate uploads. The chosen tempo overrides written tempo changes.
How realistic is violin playback?
Playback uses instrument samples. Multiple simultaneous notes become layered violins. Bowing, phrasing and expression are approximate rather than a human performance.
