Green adds text; red removes it. Text extraction is not semantic or legal review. Visual comparison works with scans; text comparison needs a selectable text layer.

How to use Compare PDFs

  1. 1Choose the original and revised PDFs.
  2. 2Compare text, select a page pair, and switch to the visual view to inspect image or layout changes.
  3. 3Download a text change report and review the original files before acting on the differences.

Before you start

Does it compare scanned PDFs?

Yes. Visual comparison renders both pages and highlights different pixels. Text comparison requires selectable PDF text and does not automatically run OCR.

How are pages matched?

By page position: original page 1 with revised page 1, and so on. Added or removed pages can shift subsequent comparisons. This version does not automatically align reordered pages.

Do identical text results mean identical documents?

No. Images, formatting and layout can change while text remains the same. Open Visual comparison for the selected page pair. Small rendering differences may also be highlighted.

Are documents uploaded?

No. PDF text extraction, rendering and comparison happen in your browser.
