Metadata Remover
Create an image without source EXIF and GPS fields, or remove PDF document properties and XMP metadata. Process your file locally.
Images are exported from decoded pixels, omitting source EXIF, GPS, camera, date and comment fields. PDF cleanup removes document properties and document/page XMP metadata.
This does not redact visible content, PDF comments, embedded attachments or metadata inside PDF images. JPEG and WebP are re-encoded; colours or file size may change. Animated images become a still frame. Digital signatures on PDFs may be invalidated.
How to use Metadata Remover
- 1Choose a JPEG, PNG, WebP or unlocked PDF.
- 2Review what the tool removes, then create a cleaned copy.
- 3Download the result. Keep the original if you need its metadata or original encoding.
Before you start
What happens to image quality?
Images are decoded and freshly exported without their source metadata. JPEG and WebP are re-encoded at high quality, and file size or colours can change. PNG preserves decoded pixels. Animated images become a still frame.
Does this remove every trace of personal information?
No. It removes source image metadata or PDF document properties and document/page XMP. Visible text, faces, PDF annotations, attachments and metadata inside PDF images are not redacted.
What about PDF signatures?
Saving a modified PDF may invalidate digital signatures. Keep the signed original.
Are files uploaded?
No. Cleanup happens in your browser.
